Video Production Enrichment Program was developed around tablets and free editing software to make filmmaking as accessible as possible for instructors and their students. Throughout the 12 unit curriculum students learn about the history of film including tech advancements, as well as the variety of genre branches. Tablets in classrooms and after-school programs are becoming increasingly prevalent, so students film and edit using only a tablet! In this hands-on, integrated curriculum approach students gain both technical skills in video filming and editing while learning about the historical significance of film and the elements of story telling. The curriculum and elements included in the Enrichment Program are reusable, allowing educators to run this Enrichment Program over and over again! This fusion of art and technological literacy is truly the perfect illustration of STEAM education brought to life.
