Models are powerful tools for teaching science as they provide useful simplifications of structures and processes, helping to make the unseen seen and the complex simple. Using the colorful model, your students will get an engaging overview of the water cycle.

Using the ready-to-use materials provided with each 3-D model set, students first assemble a model to represent a structure or an entire system as an aid to develop questions and explanations. They will then generate data and observations that can be used to make predictions and communicate ideas to others.

Using this hands-on model-making kit, your students will enjoy learning about volcanoes! They’ll start by constructing their model using the colorful parts provided. They’ll then use their model to learn about the structure of a volcano and the different types of eruptions. The unique model shows the volcano structure from both the outside and inside in cross-section. Students can model the cone, vent, crater, magma chamber, magma, lava, volcanic bombs, ash cloud, pyroclastic flow, and lahars. They will also learn about Hawaiian, Vulcanian, Vesuvian, and Plinian eruptions.

The Model Making Kit includes enough materials for students to assemble up to 5 paper models, working cooperatively, along with a comprehensive Teacher Resource Guide.
