Description
Students will genetically engineer bacteria through transformation with a plasmid that confers antibiotic resistance. They will then examine the number of resistant bacteria to determine the efficiency of the transformation procedure. Teachers manual and Student Study Guide copymasters are included. Materials provided for 8 lab groups. Meets AP Science Practices 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7, and Big Idea 3.Features

- Large beaker Hot plate or waterbath
- Microwave (not necessary if melting agar in a waterbath) Markers
- Microfuge tube racks Container of ice
