Edvotek Exploring the Bacteriophage Life Cycle Kit contains instructions, cells, phage beads, Ready-Pour Agar, COLORTOP Agar, microtest tubes, sterile loops, petri plates, luria broth, PBS. It includes sufficient materials for 10 lab groups. Bacterial viruses or bacteriophages are present in several natural environments, they cannot survive autonomously and require a host cell to reproduce as well as survive. kit helps students to explore about bacteriophages and learn different life cycles of bacterial viruses. Students can perform a viral plaque assay to indirectly visualize the viruses and to find out viral titer, multiplicity of infection. Students require 37 deg C incubation oven, waterbath, automatic micropipets with tips to conduct the experiment. Kit features some components that require freezer storage.
