In this lab activity, students will learn the role of the kidney in blood filtration and waste removal along with the many tasks performed by the functional units of the kidney, called nephrons, as well as nephron structure. By creating an artificial kidney model, they will be able to observe if filtration of a simulated blood solution has occurred and perform a chemical test to detect any possible waste material that may have been removed by the artificial kidney. Kit contains an Instruction Manual and enough materials for 2 groups.
