In this Innovative Science Chromatography of Plant Pigments activity, students will discover other “hidden” pigments that are involved during photosynthesis. Using chromatography paper, students will separate different types of pigments from a sample of a plant pigment extract, confirming the presence the role that each pigment plays and learn how chromatography paper is used as a technique to separate molecules. Kit contains an Instruction Manual and enough materials for 2 groups of students.
