Useful for a variety of lab demonstrations, this rheostat provides a variable resistance in electrical circuits. Oxidized constantan wire is wound on vitreous enameled tube. Sliding contact carriage (mounted on the slide bar) carries a phosphor bronze contact for long life. There are 3 binding posts, one at each of end of the winding and other at the end of the slide bar for electrical connections. Unit measures approximately 12 inches in length and has 225 Ohms resistance.
