About This Item
Description
Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), are often associated with their military or police uses yet are increasingly being used for fun and recreation. Unexpectedly, these devices can also serve as unique tools in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education, as educators and parents seek out exciting opportunities to engage students in learning and promote a mindset of creativity and innovation. Our brand new Edu-Drone is a perfect starter model for the classroom and educational purposes as it is lightweight and therefore easy to handle and store, offering many uses indoors (inside a gymnasium for example) as well as outdoors, with an approximate max. flight height of 25-30m. Further, the device comes unassembled, providing students with an additional learning opportunity. The quadcopter Edu-Drone is a classic example of Newton’s third law of physics in a slightly more complex system than a single, fixed rotor. Each of the four rotor blades spin to create lift and thrust, lifting the craft into the air and propelling it in multiple directions. The Edu-Drone can hover if the rotational speed of the rotors is such that the thrust and lift forces created by the spinning rotors is equal (and opposite) to the force exerted by gravity, yielding a net force of zero.Features
